So, Sally Spectra’s got a thing for Billy Abbott. Again. Because apparently, one disastrous relationship with a Newman wasn’t enough. This time, though, she’s at least considering the potential consequences of hooking up with yet another complicated, emotionally unavailable man. You know, progress. Friday’s “Young and the Restless” finds Sally pondering whether Billy truly offers the stability and healthy partnership she claims to crave or if he’s just another fast-track ticket to heartbreak hotel. Smart money’s on the latter.
Meanwhile, Phyllis Summers continues to seethe over Michael Baldwin’s decision to defend Sharon Newman. You’d think after all these years in Genoa City, Phyllis would be used to people making questionable choices. But nope, this time it’s personal. Michael, bless his heart, is trying to reason with her, pointing out that Sharon’s drugging defense might actually hold water. He’s even pushing Phyllis about her own admission that another car was present during the accident, suggesting Sharon might be totally innocent. But Phyllis? She’s doubling down on the outrage. She declares their friendship over, which, in soap opera terms, means it’ll probably be back on again by next week.
And then there’s Nate Hastings, always the diplomat, arranging a “get to know you” dinner at Society for Devon and Lily Winters, Abby Newman, and… Audra Charles. Yes, that Audra Charles. Nate wants everyone to give the PR-challenged exec a second chance, presumably because he still sees something redeemable beneath that ruthlessly ambitious exterior. Audra, for her part, seems prepared to play nice, at least for the duration of the meal. Whether this forced family dinner will actually thaw any ice or just create more awkward tension? Let’s just say I wouldn’t bet on a sudden outbreak of kumbaya.
Tune in to CBS on Friday, December 13, 2024, to see how it all plays out on “The Young and the Restless.”
