The Young and the Restless Spoilers, Monday February 24

The Young and the Restless Key Art

Sharon’s sudden disappearance throws Genoa City into a frenzy on Monday’s The Young and the Restless, with Phyllis quickly becoming the prime suspect. Considering their, shall we say, complicated history, it’s not the wildest theory. Nick and Mariah, understandably on edge given Sharon’s past abduction trauma, fear the worst. The timing, coinciding with Phyllis’s own recent vanishing act, certainly raises eyebrows, a point Chance, on the case, doesn’t fail to notice.

While some, like Mariah, see Phyllis’s potential involvement as an act of revenge for Sharon’s recent exoneration, others, like Daniel and Summer, remain unconvinced. It’s a soap opera, so naturally everyone’s got an opinion. Adding to the general unease is the lingering assumption that Ian Ward, Sharon’s former tormentor, is still six feet under. (This is Genoa City; never assume anyone is truly gone.)

Meanwhile, in slightly less dramatic news, Lily finds herself on an awkward date with Damian. She agreed, reluctantly, but remains wary of his smooth-talking ways. One suspects this storyline won’t resolve itself over a single dinner.

The rumor mill hints that Sharon’s disappearance may lead to a surprising redemption arc, involving some heroic actions. How she goes from missing person to local hero is anyone’s guess, but that’s the kind of narrative leap this town specializes in.
