The Abbott-Newman rivalry explodes once again on Wednesday’s The Young and the Restless. Jack Abbott confronts Victor Newman about his meddling in Kyle Abbott and Claire Abbott’s relationship, and let’s just say it doesn’t go well. These two are like oil and water, or perhaps more accurately, gasoline and a lit match.
Adding fuel to the fire is Michael Baldwin’s confession to Lauren Fenmore Baldwin about Victor’s corporate espionage. Victor’s spies have infiltrated Jabot, and Michael’s worried about the fallout. It’s not exactly a secret that Victor plays dirty, but this latest move could have serious consequences.
Meanwhile, Summer Newman Abbott makes a tough decision involving Kyle. Is she planning to sabotage his relationship with Claire, believing she’s doing him a favor? Or is her own desire to reunite with Kyle clouding her judgment? This being Genoa City, the latter seems far more likely.
Nikki Newman attempts to play peacemaker between Jack and Victor, but Victor’s not backing down. His hatred for the Abbotts is a force of nature, and reasoning with him is about as effective as whistling into a hurricane.
As Victor’s plot against Jabot continues, Michael tries to convince him to change course. Good luck with that. Summer, convinced Kyle and Claire are doomed, likely sees herself as a benevolent saboteur, paving the way for her own reunion with Kyle.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays at 12:30 PM on CBS.
