English actress Helen McCrory is best known as Narcissa Malfoy in the final three Harry Potter films. She is also famous for playing Cherie Blair in both the 2006 film The Queen and the 2010 film The Special Relationship.
McCrory studied at a Hertfordshire boarding school before residing in Italy for a year. She returned to England to study acting at the Drama Centre in London and made her first TV appearance in 1993 on Full Stretch and Performance. Later she played Rose Fitzgerald on North Square, Mary Freeman on In a Land of Plenty, Rose Davies on The Jury, Barbara Villiers, Countess of Castlemaine on The Last King and Amanda Puryer on Life.
In 2011, McCrory was cast in Martin Scorsese’s film Hugo as Mama Jeanne and the following year as Clair Dowar in the James Bond film, Skyfall. Recent appearances include Penny Dreadful, Peaky Blinders, Fearless, MotherFatherSon and Roadkill.
