Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis as fake girls and Marilyn Monroe as the triumphantly authentic article in Some Like It Hot.
Billy Wilder’s Some Like It Hot is the outlandish story of two men (Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis) who accidentally witness a gangland slaying. They pose as members of an all-girl band in order to avoid the gangsters, who are now trying to silence them permanently. Marilyn Monroe is at her sensual best as the band’s singer. Joe E. Brown is also hilarious as a wealthy playboy who develops an attraction for an obviously bewildered Lemmon.
The movie itself was in black and white.

Five years after the shocking events that rocked her hometown in New Zealand, Detective Robin Griffin, recently returned to Sydney, is trying to rebuild her life. When the body of an Asian girl washes up on Bondi Beach, there appears little hope of finding the killer, until Robin realises “China Girl” didn’t die alone. Robin’s search to discover “China Girl’s” identity takes her into the city’s criminal underbelly and closer than she could have imagined to the secrets of her own heart.

Top of the Lake: China Girl will broadcast on BBC Two in 2017.
First pics from The Handmaid’s Tale Hulu’s anticipated event drama premiering April 2017
Hulu have revealed first images from their highly anticipated 10 part event drama The Handmaid’s Tale which will premiere on the streaming service April 2017.
The drama series, based on the award-winning, best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly part of the United States. Facing environmental disasters and a plunging birthrate, Gilead is ruled by a twisted fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state.
As one of the few remaining fertile women, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is a Handmaid in the Commander’s household, one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world.
In this terrifying society where one wrong word could end her life, Offred navigates between Commanders, their cruel Wives, domestic Marthas, and her fellow Handmaids – where anyone could be a spy for Gilead – all with one goal: to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her.
Cast: Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd and O-T Fagbenle.
Crew: The Handmaid’s Tale comes to Hulu from MGM Television and is created, executive produced and written by Bruce Miller. Executive produced by Warren Littlefield, Daniel Wilson and Fran Sears, and Ilene Chaiken. MGM will serve as the international distributor for the series.
