The British Soap Awards 2017: Live on Saturday 3 June at 8.00pm on ITV

British Soap Awards 2017

Phillip Schofield hosts from Manchester’s Lowry Theatre as the British Soap Awards go live for the very first time. Each year, the UK’s big soaps make viewers laugh, cry and gasp in equal measure, and the last 12 months have been no exception.

From Michelle Fowler’s shocking return in EastEnders to Steve and Leanne’s baby bombshell in Coronation Street, a multi-car pile-up causing devastation in Emmerdale, Jade and Alfie’s teenage cancer struggle in Hollyoaks and the tragic death of a baby at its mother’s hands in Doctors,

Britain’s soaps have never been more talked about. This year’s star-studded ceremony promises to be the one of the most exciting and glamorous nights in the showbiz calendar as the industry honours the incredible achievements of the nation’s biggest and best-loved television shows. Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks will once again go head to head as they compete for the 15 coveted awards. The trophies – including those for best actor, best actress, best British soap, villain of the year, best male dramatic performance, best female dramatic performance, best comedy performance, best newcomer, scene of the year, best single episode and best storyline – will be handed out by some of the entertainment world’s biggest and brightest faces.

Can 2016 first-time winners Emmerdale hold onto the title for another year? And which soap veteran will be receiving this year’s prestigious outstanding achievement award?

The British Soap Awards 2017: Live airs on Saturday 3 June 2017 at 8.00pm on ITV.
