Dance Dance Dance premieres 8 Jan on ITV
A different spin on the Strictly Dancing format is Dance Dance Dance which premieres on ITV on Sunday 8 January at 6.30pm.
Alesha Dixon and Will Best host the six-part series celebrating the most iconic pop video and dance movie sequences of all time. Five celebrities – former Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson, ex-TOWIE regular Jessica Wright, EastEnders alumnus Jonny Labey, JB Gill of former boy band JLS and Emmerdale beauty Fiona Wade – together with a partner of their choice, recreate a host of famous routines as closely as possible.
The series, the format of which has already been a hit across Europe, employs state-of-the art special effects to re-enact legendary routines from Michael Jackson’s Bad and Madonna’s Vogue to Beyonce’s Crazy In Love and Britney Spears’ Baby One More Time.
Each week, the star contestants and their partners face critiques from a panel of three expert judges, consisting of renowned choreographers Tina Landon and Timor Steffens, who have both worked with Michael Jackson, and Ashley Banjo, leader of Britain’s Got Talent-winning street dance crew Diversity. As the celebrities knuckle down and undertake a gruelling rehearsal regime, who will have the upper hand, and who will manage to dance their way to victory?
In this first episode our celebrity duos will be performing the following routines:
Jonny Labey and his girlfriend Chrissy – Scream, Michael and Janet Jackson
JB Gill and his wife Chloe – Thinking Out Loud, Ed Sheeran
Jessica Wright and her friend Duane – Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire
Fiona Wade and her friend Ronnie – The Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing
Lucy Jo Hudson and her friend Rohan – Everybody, Backstreet Boys
