Rowan Atkinson returns as the legendary Parisian detective in the third Maigret adaptation for ITV. Maigret’s Night at the Crossroads airs on Sunday 16 April at 8.00pm on ITV.
A Jewish diamond dealer from Antwerp is murdered in the dead of night at a remote village at the crossroads outside Arpajon. Next morning, the body is discovered in a car belonging to Carl Anderson (Tom Wlaschiha), a badly disfigured, arrogant, religious Dane living with his sister Else (Mia Jexen) in a crumbling mansion, one of two houses and a garage that make up the three properties at the crossroads. Inspector Grandjean (Kevin R McNally), the local police inspector, calls Paris police HQ asking his old friend Maigret to intercept the Andersons as they flee to Paris by
LaPointe (Leo Staar) and Janvier (Shaun Dingwall) arrest the pair at the station and Anderson is found to be carrying the murder weapon. When Grandjean arrives to question Anderson, he is sure the case is straightforward and Anderson is guilty. However, Maigret is not convinced, and much to his old friend’s chagrin, takes control of the investigation
