House Season Three
Universal / 6 disc set / certificate M / 1015 minutes
Hugh Laurie, Jessie Spencer, Jennifer Morrison, Robert Sean Leonard,
Hugh Laurie has really hit the big time with House, his role as Dr Gregory House defining the terms crochety maverick. Season three of the show gets a DVD release by Universal. It’s a great season and good to see that the proucers arn’t resting on their laurels by ramping up the storylines to take in the arrival of detective David Morse who has made it his personal mission to get House, especially given his dependency on the prescription drug Vicodin. If you remember the end of season two saw House at what looked to be at death’s door following a shooting.
Obviously House manages to survive and much of the season is actually concerned with houses reputation as a doctor but he does find time amongst all his personal problems to deal with patients such as a man weighing 600lbs, an autistic boy, a chess prodigy and a musical savant (played by Dave Matthews). Watch out too from guest appearances from Joel “Cabaret” Grey and John Larroquette.
It’s another high quality season and one with a finale that promises some huge changes for season four (which we won’t say too much about here). Definitely a must have for fans.
Extras including audio commentaries, a house soundtrack session, a close look at the episode The Jerk, a look at the props department, a glimpse into the house production office and a blooper reel.
