Michelle Pfeiffer

Born in 1957 in Orange County, California, Pfeiffer drifted through various odd jobs, including supermarket checkout girl, before appearing in TV commercials. Her break was a part in the 1979 TV series Delta House, where she played a blonde bimbo called Bombshell.

It took the former Miss Orange County a while to be taken seriously for anything other than her looks when she made the move into film but, after the non-classics Charlie Chan And The Curse Of The Dragon Queen and Grease 2, she worked her way up to Dangerous Liaisons and her memorable performance in The Fabulous Baker Boys, both of which were Oscar nominated.
