Adventures of Don Quick, The (ITV 1970, Ian Hendry, Ronald Lacey)
SciFi comedy drama series Don Quick was a short lived but well remembered set of stories about interfering intergalactic maintainance man Don Quick and his second in command Sam Czopanzer. Obviously put together as a kind of scifi take on Don Quixote with Quick landing on a different planet each episode and putting his two pennorth into the way things are run.
Writers included producer Wildeblood, Keith Miles, Kenneth Hill and Charlotte & Dennis Plimmer. Director of the first episode was future Harry Potter helmer Mike Newell. There was a high calibre roster of guest stars too including the likes of Roy Marsden, Leigh Lawson, Patricia Haines, Yutte Stensgard, Graham Crowden, Madeline Smith, Gay Soper, James Hayter, Kate O’Mara, Bryan Mosley, Colin Baker and Anouska Hempel.
Only the first episode is known to still be in existence.
