This very well remembered take on The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was set in the late 19th century and was based on the much loved novel by Mark Twain.
The stories follows young scallywag Tom Sawyer who gets mixed up in adventure with his best friend Huck Finn in the American South, getting into trouble and helping saved the much maligned slave Injun Joe.
A classic BBC treatment across seven episodes means that the story stays remarkably faithfull to the book.
