Talented impressionist Alistair McGowan after years of making guest appearances etc graduated to a series of his own assisted by the equally capable Ronnie Ancona. McGowan’s impressions included David and Victoria Beckham, a Royal version of the Royal family, Alan Titchmarsh, Laurence Llewellyn Bowen, Tim Henman, Lily Savage, Michael Barrymore, Robbie Williams, Michael Parkinson, Woody Allen, Liam Gallagher, Eddie Izzard, Prince Naseem, Garey Lineker and Mark Lawrenson.
Episode One broadcast 26 April Wed 10.00pm and episode two broadcast 27 April Thurs 10.00pm.
SPECIAL1:- BBC1/ 1x30m-e / 2000 (Saturday 30 December 9.30pm) McGowan and Ronnie Ancona looked at some of the key events of the year. SPECIAL1:- BBC1 / 1x30m / 25 December 2002 / NOTE: From the special onwards the show was retitled to simply “THE BIG IMPRESSION”. Perhaps to reflect Ronni Ancona’s equal involvement.
