It’s Awfully Bad For Your Eyes, Darling… (BBC-1 1971, Joanna Lumley, Jane Carr)
Sitcom It’s Awfully Bad For Your Eyes, Darling... was about four glamourous ‘dolly-birds’ sharing a flat. The four were all from well off families and each, like proto Spice Girls, had their own distinct character traits; Clover was Scatty, Samantha was sexy; Virginia was posh and Pudding was the sensible one.
There was a pilot (with the gorgeous Anna Palk as Victoria and only the three girls sharing) broadcast 15 April 1971. Novelist Jilly Cooper co-wrote the series with Christopher Bond.
