In sitcom Bachelor Father, which aired for 22 half hour episodes over two seasons on BBC One between 1970 and 1971, middle aged wealthy bachelor Peter Lamb (Ian Carmichael) decides to become a foster parent and takes in five children.

Besides Carmichael the cast included Briony Roberts as Anna; Ronald Pickering as Donald (Season 1); Ian Johnson as Ben; Beverly Simons as Jane; Angela Ryder as Mandy; Gerald Flood as Harry (Season 1); Rona Anderson as Mary (Season 1); Colin Gordon as Mr Gibson (Season 1); Jack May as Mr Moore (Season 1); Pauline Yates as Mrs Moore (Season 1); Sonia Graham as Mrs Rathbone; Diana King as Norah; Joan Hickson as Mrs Pugsley; Michael Douglas as Freddie; Jacqueline Cowper as Ginny (Season 2); Gerry Cowper as Jo (Season 2); Kevin Moran as Christopher(Season 2)

The series was written by Richard Waring and produced by Graeme Muir. The theme music was by Eric Rogers and the incidental music was by Dennis Wilson.
