Ben Travers Farces (BBC-1 1970, Richard Briers, Arthur Lowe)

An anthology of seven Ben Travers classic stage farces. Travers was the acknowledged King of Farce during the 1920’s and 1930’s and was still going strong at the age of 83 when these adaptations were broadcast. Travers actually reworked the scripts to many of these losing some of the slapstick and concentrating more on verbal wordplay.
