For Richer… For Poorer was another typical Johnny Speight scripted comedy shown as part of the Comedy Playhouse strand. Harry H. Corbett was Bert, a highly left wing union shop steward who dreams of becoming a major politician. The excellent David Batley played Nigel ‘the Idle’ and there was an appearance from Don Henderson as a union mediator.
