Period drama serial Coming Home, based on the bestseller by Rosamunde Pilcher, was initially set in the mid 1930’s where Judith Dunbar’s (Emily Mortimer) life changes when she becomes part of the wealthy Carey-Lewis family circle. Arriving at Boarding school young Judith (played by Keira Knightley as a schoolgirl) meets carefree Loveday Carey-Lewis (Katie Ryder-Richardson) who invites her to stay with her family during the school holidays at their ancestral home Nancherrow.
As time passes Judith becomes almost part of the Carey-Lewis family. With war on the horizon Judith begins an affair with Loveday’s brother Edward (Paul Bettany) but he is not interested in a real relationship.
When war does break out Judith’s life and that of the Carey-Lewis’s is changed forever. A sequel called Nancherrow followed.
