Crime Sheet (ITV 1959, Raymond Francis)

Crime Sheet was the second of three crime dramas to feature career policeman Tom Lockhart, after starring first in the series Murder Bag where he was a detective Superintendent focusing on murder solving. Here he has a promotion to Chief Superintendent and tackled a greater range of cases.

Crime Sheet though quickly made way for the hugely popular No Hiding Place which saw Lockhart transferred to Scotland Yard.

Raymond Francis was a big TV star of the fifties and sixties but felt that thanks to the huge success of the Lockhart character felt he became somewhat typecast.

Writers included Peter Yeldham, John Whitney and Glyn Davies.
