Dresden Files, The (Scifi Channel 2007, Paul Blackthorne, Valerie Cruz)

Short lived but intriguing cult series about magician Harry Dresden who Jonathan Creek like finds himself getting involved in the solving of criminal cases. Harry though may just have real magical powers and finds himself dealing with all manner of werewolfs, vampires and the like that actually sees the show being more akin to Kolchak: The Night Stalker. Harry is based in Chicago and usually called upon by Lt Connie Murphy.

Dresden had a nice line in self depracating, dry humour and sparked off well with his aide de camp Bob (who was actually a ghost). A two hour pilot was filmed but ended up being re-edited to become episode 8 of the series although it has been seen in full as a stand alone movie since. The show itself is based on a series of popular novels by Jim Butcher.
