Edwin (Channel 4 1984, Alec Guiness, Renee Asherson)

In drama Edwin Sir Fennimore Truscott finds that retired life doesn’t exactly suit him. In fact it is giving him too much thinking time – thinking suspicious thoughts about the relationship between his wife Margaret and their next door neighbour Tom. The pair are far too friendly for Fenni’s liking.

A visit from the couple’s only son Edwin looks set to put Fenni’s suspicions about his real parentage out into the open.

A wonderful tour de force from Alec Guiness at a point in his career when he was seriously limiting his screen time.
