In romantic drama The English Harem Tracy Pringle has romantic notions of the mystic east and when she is dismissed from her job as a supermarket checkout girl she decides to get a job as a waitress in a Persian restaurant.

She falls for the handsome and charming owner Sam Sahar and befriends his two wives eventually marrying him and becoming part of his “harem”. But prejudice and bigotry amongst others are destined to ruin things for them.
