Wartime drama serial Fair Stood The Wind For France was set during World War II when an English aircrew stranded in France following the crashing of the plane are sheltered by a French family. One of the pilots, Franklin, falls in love with Francoise the daughter.

Although not billed as such in the Radio Times, Fair Stood the Wind for France was part of the BBC’s Love Story anthology series.
