Family Business (BBC-1 2004, Jamie Foreman, Elizabeth Berrington)

Drama series. Marky Brooker is a builder with a kind-heart running his own small business. He cannot help getting involved with his customers’ domestic problems despite being beset with his own family dramas.

His son has disappeared before his first term at Oxford and his daughter is struggling with her identity. Whilst it might be easy to hide behind his clients’ problems, he more than anyone should know that you can’t paper over the cracks forever.

Marky’s adoptive parents, Iris and Arthur also live with the Brooker family, another regular was Marky’s single sister Rachel. As much as the series was about Marky and his family it was also about the lives of the people he came across during his working life.
