Hello Goodbye Man, The (BBC-2 1984, Ian Lavender, Mary Tamm)

Sitcom The Hello Goodbye Man followed shy middle aged Denis Ailing who, despite being totally unsuited to the task, gets a job as a sales rep for Cookham’s Cures and is soon out of his depth. Ailing by name and Ailing by nature Denis finds himself competing against super salesman Glenn Harris – not that he is any competition for the smooth Harris naturally.

Another fine addition to the Nobbs canon, The Hello Goodbye Man has been pretty much forgotten these days.
