The Itch of The Golden Nit is a wonderfully slice of animation that has actually been put together by kids (given a helping hand by Aardman Animation). The story came together with thousands of kids from all over the UK contributing images to the story via the BBC website or at one of several workshops held across the country. It tells the tale of Eleven year old Beanie who needs to not only save his parents but also the entire world (and armed with only a laser lip-gloss and a pair of chameleonic pants).
He finds himself battling against the Evil Stella and has to return the fabled Golden Nit back to the heart of the sun. Wonderful, very high profiles voice cast make this a little gem. Besides those listed in the cast below there are also cameos for David Tennant, Pixie Lott, Matt Baker, Dick and Dom and Stacey Solomon. Immediately after the show at 9.30pm is a Blue Peter special called How We Itched The Golden Nit with Andy Akinwolere going behind the scenes and showing how the film came together.
