Jacks And Knaves (BBC 1961, John Barrie, Philip Stone)

Crime drama serial Jacks and Knaves told four cases of Liverpool detective sergeant Tom Hitchin (John Barrie). This serial was the inspiration for Z Cars. So much so that three of the four episodes were made for Z Cars.

Besides Hitchin other characters included D.C. Bert Hoyle (Leonard Williams) and Sergeant Harry Frost (Philip Stone).
