Jeopardy (BBC-1 2002-2004, Steve Vidler, Samantha Bowie)

Jeopardy was a drama about a group of Scottish students and their teacher who go on a trip to Australia to look for UFOs. They are all equipped with their own compact video cameras to make a journal of their trip and the action is often shown from the perspective of their own camerawork. (Despite running low on supplies they never seem to run out of batteries for their cameras!).

In season two the students were rescued from the outback by the Australian “Authorities” – but are they free to leave? They escape and go on the run looking for two of their party that are missing. But their every move is being watched.

In series 3 (14 episodes started 20 July 04) the students became infected with an alien virus that caused them to divide into two and vanish whenever they became scared and the ever-dwindling group try to expose an Australian government cover-up. It involves time-travel as well with the two survivors remaining at the end travelling back to try and persuade the rest not to go on the Australian trip in the first place using their video camera evidence to convince them. The three years the series lasted all took place over a four week period.
