Laburnum Grove (BBC Drama, Maurice Denham)

Early TV version of J.B. Priestley’s play Laburnum Grove, broadcast live to the few thousand people in the London area and surrounds who had a TV set. As was usual with live TV plays at this time there was a second broadcast (again live) two days later on the 6 August.

The storyline focused on George Redfern (Maurice Denham) who accidentally reveals to his family that he is a forger. Also filmed in 1936 with Edmund Gwenn in the lead role.
