Langley Bottom (ITV Sitcom, Bernard Cribbins, Tim Barrett)

ITV sitcom Langley Bottom detailed the misadventures of Seth Raven (Bernard Cribbins), odd job man down in the village of Langley bottom. Seth spent more time interfering in other people’s business than he did fixing stuff, other regulars included local school headmaster Vernon Dobbs (Don Crann) and the Reverend Dennis Claybourne (Tim Barrett). Mr and Mrs Patel (Kaleem Janjua and Jamila Massey) ran the local cornershop.

Filmed in the village of Kirby Overblow, near Harrogate Langley Bottom was similar in style and tone to Cribbins’ earlier sitcom Cuffy. This was written by Barry Cryer and actor John Junkin.
