London Belongs To Me (ITV 1977 with Derek Farr and Trevor Eve)

Published

London Belongs To Me was a period drama serial set in a nineteen thirties London boarding house where the residents band together to help a young man who is accused of murdering his girlfriend.

Norman Collins was a popular J.B. Priestley-esque novelist of the 1940’s and this source material had also been made into an excellent 1948 movie that starred Richard Attenborough and Alastair Sim.

Interestingly the TV Times of the week of the shows debut featured an “episode minus one” – a prequel covering events leading up to the first episode. This was also written by Collins.
