Magical Mystery Tour (BBC Musical, The Beatles)
Magical Mystery Tour was the hugely anticipated Beatles TV movie extravaganza for Christmas 1967. It was the third movie they had made after A Hard Day’s Night and Help. The rambling, plotless production sees The Beatles and a group of their friends embark on a charabanc day trip with musical interludes along the way. The musical set pieces are magnificent but as a whole it’s generally looked upon as something of a rare misfire for the group.
