Necessary Roughness (USA Network 2011-2013, Callie Thorne)
Drama series Necessary Roughness follows Long Island psychotherapist Dr Dani Santino who finds her life completely unravelling after discovering that her husband has been cheating, she decides that the only thing to do is to throw herself completely into her work and after managing to sort out the shenanigans of a bad boy footballer player she quickly finds that her no nonsense ways are highly sought after.
Meanwhile Dani is also keen to ensure that her personal life gets back on an even keel and she remains a good mother to her two teenage kids.
Season 3 saw Dani working for NYC talent agency V3 after losing her old job. This was mainly done to change up the series a little, bring in some new cast and a new dynamic. This third season only ran to 10 episodes 2.
Partly inspired by a true life story Necessary Roughness is energised by the great central performance by Callie Thorne who is probably best known for her long running role on Rescue Me. Alongside the third season there was a web only six part series called TK Gets Real that focused on the character of TK as he tried to become a reality star.
