Organization, The (ITV 1972 Donald Sinden, Peter Egan)

Drama series The Organization was all about the plotting and backbiting amongst the PR Department of the Greatrick Organisation which is still ruled by the iron hand of the (never seen) chairman who created it.

Peter Egan played the handsome and ambitious newly arrived Richard Pershore who was determined to get to the top. Bernard Hepton was press officer Rodney Spurling who always seemed to be in Chairman’s firing line. Meanwhile Donald Sinden was David Pulman, head of public relations. Everyone is terrified of the Chairman (who is never seen but makes a habit of early morning or late night phone calls at home to his staff, just to tell them off) but it’s Eve (who is in Editor of the in-house magazine) who is the real player.
