Spoof of the current crop of the never stream of so called reality/talent shows taking the form of a live final of Britain’s most popular show Britain’s Got the Pop Factor and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice where the three finalists are R Wayne who is trying to win in memory of his Gran who had a heart attack after he was knocked out in the early rounds for not having a sad enough story (obviously his Gran dying got him straight back in the show); 2 Up 2 Down a singing quartet whose two female singers are confined to wheelchairs and Geraldine, a transexual singer from Ireland.
Uproariously funny, with knowing nods to all kinds of pop culture, even down to the poor demise of the legendary Tommy Cooper live on stage. It’s also clear that Kay himself is obviously a huge fan of these type of shows. The event took the form of two shows, the live final and a 45 minute results show.
There were lots of cameo’s too from the likes of Paul McCartney, Simon Pegg, Rick Astley, The Cheeky Girls, the legendary Rusty Lee and Lionel Blair
After the end credits, the show advertised its “sequel”, due to show the next year: Celebrity Fiddler on the Roof In the Jungle, an amalgam of British reality show I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here and the musical Fiddler on the Roof.
