Play For Love Games ITV Drama, Barbara Leigh Hunt Ian Sharrock, Geoffrey Palmer

The drama Games was an entry in the Play For Love strand and the plot followed 17 year old Jamie (Ian Sharrock) who learnt a few uncomfortable facts about his parents Donald (Geoffrey Palmer) and Sheila (Barbara Leigh-Hunt) when he makes a surprising discovery in a filing cabinet.

Reviewing the drama in The Stage (April 6, 1978) Jennifer Lovelace felt the production was hit and miss saying ‘there were some good moments which precisely delineated emotions and reactions, there were others which tended to soap opera.” She also singled out Ian Sharrock’s performance saying he “tackled this central part with intelligence and feeling and gave a commendable performance for a young actor.”

Sharrock would go on to play Jackie Merrick in Emmerdale throughout much of the 1980′s.
