Playhouse: Putting On The Agony (ITV 1973, Philip Lowrie)

In nostalgia tinged drama Putting on the Agony a group of former rockers (in the motorbike riding, mod fighting 1960’s sense of the word) get together for a reunion dinner. Barry Jackson feels he has worked hard to get where he is with his nice new executive estate home to show for it but others in the group haven’t been as fortunate and waste no time in letting Barry no about it.

Treading the same path as sitcom Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads this was a tight little play with much to say about the changing face of society in the 1970’s. Good cast too!
