Premiere (BBC-2 1977-1980)

Premiere was an anthology series of dramas inaugurated to allow new directors the chance to make their first contributions to TV.

Writers whose work was featured included the likes of Alan Sillitoe, Alan Bennett, Alan Plater, Clive Exton, Frederic Raphael, Stan Barstow and Ian Kennedy Martin.

Season two was known as Premiere 2, Season 3 reverted to just plain Premiere with Season 4 being known as Premiere 4.
