Reg (BBC-1 2016, Tim Roth, Anna Maxwell Martin)

Drama telling the real life story of Reg Keys who took on the might of the British Government and the Prime Minister in particular over the fact of Britain’s involvement in the Iraq war.

As the BBC press release says “the film follows Reg on a journey of grief and defiance after his son Tom is one of six Royal Military Police soldiers murdered in Al Majar, Iraq.

As Reg and his wife, Sally, have their lives torn apart, questions begin to arise not only around the events that led to their son’s death but also about the war as a whole. Left with questions that the Government refuses to answer, Reg decides to stand as an independent candidate in Blair’s own constituency of Sedgefield.”
