Round the Twist (Channel 7 – ABC 1990, Tamsin West, Sam Vanderburgh)

Fantasy sitcom Round The Twist was heavy on slapstick and had a fab theme tune. It followed the adventures of the Twist children who lived with their father in a lighthouse on the Victoria coast and found strangeness and fantastic things happening to them on a regular basis.

The first series of 13 was followed by a second almost 3 years later, this featured a largely different cast and relocated to the ABC, then five years later the series re-emerged for a further two seasons.

Round the twist was one of Australia’s most sucessful TV exports, sold to 78 different countries, each series took around 5 months to film and cost around $5 million to produce.
