Rule Britannia! (ITV sitcom, Tony Melody, Russell Hunter)

Sitcom Rule Britannia! detailed the exploits of a typical Englishman, Scotsman, Irishman and a Welshman. The series began with Englishman George Bradshaw getting ready to meet up after a gap of 25 years with three shipmates who had served with him on board H.M.S. Andrew.

In essence it was more ethnicity from the man who also penned Mind Your Language and My Son Rueben. The series was considered to be a big enough draw to get a prestigious TV Times cover to tie in with it’s first episode as well as a two and half page feature inside on the treatment of British stereotypes.
