Shirley’s World (ITV Drama, Shirley Maclaine, John Gregson)

Comedy drama series Shirley’s World saw American Shirley Logan (Shirley Maclaine) moves to London to begin working as a journalist but like any good ITC drama there were plenty of travelogue moments.

Unusually ATV try the half hour format for one of their comedy action adventure series. Something they were experimenting with at this time. The Adventurer, also made in 1972 also went for a half hour format.

As was usual with ITC series there were some high quality guest stars including Erik Chitty, Nigel Davenport, Jeremy Lloyd, Sally Thomsett, Bill Owen, Derek Francis, Ron Moody, Burt Kwouk, Rodney Bewes, Una Stubbs, James Booth, Dandy Nichols, Aimi MacDonald, Patrick Newell and Brian Blessed.
