Sick of It (Sky 1 2018, Karl Pilkington)

In Sick Of It, Karl Pilkington’s first scripted sitcom, he plays middle aged cabbie Karl who has moved in with his ageing Aunt after splitting up with his girlfriend. Karl’s closest friend happens to be himself, the plain speaking voice in his head who appears to the audience as his doppelganger. This Karl is more than happy to say exactly what he thinks…

Pilkington says of his inner voice… ‘For most people the inner self is there to help make decisions but mine mainly confuses me and pushes me in the wrong direction. I’d say that doing this series was inner self’s idea. I’ve only just realised that I’m playing myself twice but only being paid once. Like I say, my inner self doesn’t really look out for me.’

Created by Pilkington and Richard Yee, the pair also worked together on An Idiot Abroad and The Moaning of Life.
