Sorry, I’m A Stranger Here Myself (ITV 1981-1982, Robin Bailey)

Sitcom Sorry, I’m A Stranger Here Myself saw ageing librarian Henry Nunn (the always excellent Robin Bailey) moving into the house, in the West Midlands town of Stackley, left to him in his Uncle’s will, the house was where he spent his formative years growing up.

Henry is married to the unseen Sybil but not happy and takes the opportunity for a fresh start back in the town that meant so much to him growing up. Of course times have changed. He is surprised to find he has a squatter, Alex (a young Christopher Fulford) and his new neighbours don’t quite seem his type. Tom (David Hargreaves) is a union shop steward and Mumtaz (Nadim Sawalha) owns the corner shop.
