In one off thriller Soundproof Penny (Susan Lynch) is a hearing woman who works as a sign-language interpreter for the police when they are interviewing deaf people. She becomes embroiled in the story of profoundly deaf Dean (Joseph Mawle) whom she falls for when he is being questioned in connection with a mysterious death and when they become lovers she finds herself under a horrendous conflict of interest as he presses her to disclose what other deaf witnesses have been saying about him.
