Teachers (Channel 4 2001-2004, Andrew Lincoln, Adrian Bower)

Drama series looking at the often harassed lives of a group of mainly twenty something teachers at a comprehensive school, there was as much focus on their out of hours activities as their school hour ones. Andrew Lincoln left the series a few episodes before the end of the second season.

This was the first Channel 4 drama ever to be re-commissioned for a third series. Andrew Lincoln’s character returned for three mid-season episodes in series 3 while working as a supply teacher. He also directed the final 2 episodes of the series.

In the fourth series the Summerdown school has merged with another school and is now set at Wattkins Comprehensive.
