Sitcom That’s My Boy detailed the exploits of a naughty schoolboy (played by midget Jimmy Clitheroe). Clitheroe was a hugely popular radio star who had his own long running series called The Clitheroe Kid (1955-1972) his talents never quite moved to TV most probably because it was too hard to disguise the fact that Jimmy wasn’t really a schoolboy – he was in his mid forties when he made this series and facially was starting to show his age. A thyroid problem had stunted Jimmy’s growth which stalled at 4ft 3in.
Incidentally this series was not fully networked and was only seen in the Midlands and Northern Regions of England.
