Period drama serial The Three Musketeers gave us derring do and adventure with the Musketeers in 17th Century France. See also Further Adventures of the Musketeers. The BBC previously mounted a 6 part serial version of the series in 1954 (this was broadcast live and was shown twice each day it was broadcast).
