Thriller: An Echo Of Theresa (ITV 1973, Paul Burke, Polly Bergen)

In An Echo of Theresa Americans Brad Hunter and his wife Suzy pay a visit to Europe for the first time however a newspaper article sparks off some intense memories for Brad of a woman named Theresa. Claiming though that he has never met anyone called Theresa he begins to suspect he is going mad. Especially when he starts to have memory lapses. Brad and Suzy call in private detective Matthew Earp who believes the answer lies in Brad’s wartime past.

Quite a clever Thriller episode, An Echo of Theresa starts off with with quite strong other worldly overtones before heading off into cold war/spy territory. The real highlight though is the fun performance of Dinsdale Landen as the private detective Matthew Earp. His character was definitely strong enough to carry a series by himself (he would go on to appear in another Thriller episode – The Next Scream You Hear)!
