When undercover police officer Tom Howarth (Steven Mackintosh, Land Girls, Our Mutual Friend) disappears while investigating the brutal murder of a prostitute, the two detectives closest to him, his wife Lois (Nardini) and best friend Matt (Lennie James) lead the search. As they do so, they find themselves drawn to each other and begin a pasionate affair that leaves them facing an almost impossible dilemma.

Matt and Lois are torn between their loyalty towards Tom and their intense feelings for each other. Would they be happier if he were never found? Or is their forbidden love doomed from the beginning?

Emotions become more confused when their investigation reveals the true extent to which Tom has immersed himself in the world of vice, where he has been posing as a pimp. Has Tom himself been having an affair with the murder victim who was one of his ‘girls’? Soon the powerful waves of passion unleashed threaten to engul them all.
